Who We Are
Canada's Dog Trainer Jill
Skorochod, CPDT
Owner/Head Trainer, Time and Patience Dog Training Ltd.
Canada's Dog Trainer Jill
Skorochod (pronounced SCORE-hod) has successfully taught
thousands of families how to train their dogs to become
safe, well-mannered family pets.
Jill earned the name "Canada's Dog Trainer" through her extensive international work in dog training. Her client list spans from Tokyo, Japan, to Seoul, Korea, through Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Ontario. Jill has been a two-time presenter at the International
Association of Canine
Professionals Annual Conference in Texas, and is the perennial host of the popular "Ask The Trainer" feature area at Canada's largest consumer pet show, All About Pets. Jill also works closely with the world's leading dog trainers to bring educational workshops and seminars to Canada's dog owners and professionals.
Jill is proud to be the first Canadian to have been elected to the Board of Directors of the International
Association of Canine
Professionals, the group of dog experts
recommended by Cesar
Millan, star of National
Geographic
Channel's The
Dog Whisperer.
Jill is one of only
a handful of trainers in Ontario to have earned the
designation of Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT) through
the Certification
Council for Pet Dog Trainers (CCPDT). The CPDT examination
is the only truly independent certification available
in the dog training industry, and the CCPDT requires
its members to participate in ongoing professional education
to maintain their certification status.
Before becoming a dog-training instructor, Jill spent
more than 15 years teaching and coaching adult and
youth
learners in a variety of disciplines. Thrilled with
the opportunity to combine her professional skills
with
her love of dogs, Jill apprenticed under an extensive
training program created by leaders in the dog training
industry and continues to study with leading dog experts from around the world.
Jill works with Tailwags
Doggy Daycare to provide the best in puppy socialization
and companion dog-training classes to Midtown, Forest
Hill and North Toronto. She also offers private, in-home
training to families with hectic schedules, or specific
behavioural issues to address.
When she is not teaching people to train their dogs,
Jill makes her home in Davisville Village with Ruby,
Ginger and Smudge, her three Bullmastiffs.
