Who We Are

Jonathan McGill
Trainer

Following a long history in working with animals, Jon has been active in professional dog training for close to three years. In addition to studying an extensive program created by leaders in the dog training industry, Jon apprenticed under Time and Patience Dog Training’s Senior Trainer, Fotini Fokidis, as he developed his training and instructing skills. He now works with group classes and Puppy Playdates, where he continues to help clients with one-on-one attention.

As with all of Time and Patience Dog Training’s instructors, Jon is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), and is currently working towards being certified by their Basic Trainer Skills program. He will be the first trainer in Canada to achieve this title!

Jon arrived in Toronto in 2004 to study Communications and English at York University, and left his 10-year-old Rottweiler, Tang, behind in Ottawa. Tang now lives with Jon’s mother, and he visits her every chance he gets.

When he is not training clients at Time and Patience Dog Training, or studying at York, Jon is a vet assistant at the Beaches Animal Hospital, where he gets to continue developing his dog handling skills and his love of animals.
